getting a new home and buying the furniture I need

While each piece would be particular to my needs, our goal was that the furnishings would easily compliment each other plus the room without overtaking it

When our family moved into our new home about 5 years ago, I had a vision for the interior design that I wanted, but my dream had to be put on hold. I went on a genuinely long plus frustrating search for several years for the perfect pieces. I drove to every furniture store in the local area on a weekly basis. I visited antique stores plus estate sales, but for so long I couldn’t find anything that exactly suited our style. I finally decided to throw in the towel and design our own custom furniture plus have the pieces built to perfectly match. It was a genuinely time-consuming process. There immediately were a lot of decisions to be made for the exact desired shape, colors, textures plus details. I was planning to professionally furnish the entire house but started with the living room for the project, where I needed a custom sofa, chairs, drapes plus a grand coffee table. I took genuinely detailed measurements of the large space, taking into consideration the location of the floor-to-ceiling windows, plus traffic patterns. I hoped to keep the scale of the brand new furniture relatively consistent to deliver the room balance. It was ridiculously important to me that our selections went well with existing colors in the house, such as the wood moldings plus play Massive stone fireplace. While each piece would be particular to my needs, our goal was that the furnishings would easily compliment each other plus the room without overtaking it. The next viable step was choosing the style of frames for the furniture. At this point I consulted with the craftsman who would eventually build the custom pieces plus asked for recommendations. He requested that we utilize kiln-dried hardwood for the frames because of the longevity.
