I was absolutely gleeful this year for our anniversary when I got a doorbell monitor installed.
It’s good because when somebody knocks at our door, I can answer wherever I happen to be with our cellphone.
Even if I’m home, I do this now and it’s absolutely amazing. I suppose you can call myself and others lazy since I don’t consistently want to go physically open the door. Admittedly, the door where I answer is through the front porch. I never had an HVAC system installed in the enclosed porch, though I have been considering calling up the HVAC company to get that done. Occasionally it’s a little warm in there, but there are ceiling fans for that at least. In the Winter weeks, it’s just bone-chilling cold in there so it’s absolutely a blessing to be able to answer the door remotely these days. Well, the other day I was shocked when the visitor who came to our door was not a person, but a mountain lion. He or he was just curious checking everything out. After awhile, I said “Hi” to the mountain lion and it jumped back feeling startled. It kept looking around to see where I was and then it bolted off out of there in a rush. I suppose I absolutely scared that awful thing. I’ve learn that mountain lions rarely attack humans and they are quick to run and hide if they recognize threatened by us. That was good to know because the HVAC pro was expected to arrive later on. I kept a lookout for the mountain lion, but I was pretty sure he was long gone. Still, when I told the HVAC professional about the mountain lion, he seemed absolutely scared when going back to his truck.
