In today’s world, it is not unusual to see a female doing a job that is typically done by a male.
There are female truck drivers, female mail deliverers, and even female electricians.
Without the stigma of being a female holding them back from doing as they please, it is hard to find one field that does not have female workers. A particular field that is up and coming is the HVAC business. Like nurses and teachers, people will not stop needing their HVAC systems serviced. As Jan started to do research on the best HVAC technician schools around the town she lives, she found that most of the students were males. Although she was not bothered by the male to female ratio, she began to wonder if it would be harder for her to get through the program being one of the only females. She went ahead and began her journey as an HVAC technician. To Jans surprise, she was not the only female in her classes! There were 3 other women in her first HVAC technician training class. The women were expected to do the same physical labor as the guys. In the field, the women turned out to be the best at talking to the homeowners regarding their HVAC system concerns. Jan has really enjoyed her time as an HVAC technician student and encourages other women to looking in the field of HVAC work. There is a lot of money to be made as an HVAC technician. Jan is happy that she chose the path she did.
