Sometimes I’m still in shock that I really own my own house. This has been a dream of mine and an achievement that I’ve wanted forever. Spending various years renting left me ungratified and I constantly felt I was pouring money down a hole because I would never get it back. Everywhere I ever rented just had the most underwhelming Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems too. Paying currency for a place to live and then being stuck in a hot, sticky apartment in the Summer was dreadful. However, that’s over now. However, just buying this place wasn’t the end of the road. I was able to afford this place because it’s in rough shape. Structurally, the place will stand a long time. Inside though, it has been neglected for several years. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C in particular was a complete mess. I couldn’t make the place liveable until I fixed the Heating, Ventilation & A/C situation. Initially, this home was designed with a boiler system, which shows its age. Somewhere along the line though, it was ripped out and a crude central air Heating, Ventilation & A/C system was added. This thing is so much uglier than a Heating, Ventilation & A/C system. It had to be torn out but, I wasn’t so sure that installing another central air unit in would be the answer. Instead, I went with the ductless Heating, Ventilation & A/C units because they have been such a great addition. The heating and cooling power is strong and they are hyper efficient which saves me a lot of currency. I’ll be blissful to have that extra currency as I continue to turn this house into a home.
