My buddies and I love to make bets on things.
We watch pay per view fights all the time and we make bets on who will win.
Sometimes we make bets like who will get back home from work the fastest and other foolish things like that. Just recently, my buddies were hanging out at my place. My HVAC system was experiencing troubles and I saw another interesting betting opportunity. I called to have the HVAC professional come out that day. I told everybody the timeframe of when the HVAC worker was supposed to arrive. We all made bets on when he would show up. I betted he would be there at noon. Other friends said sooner, and one friend said he was going to be super late. I was hoping that particular friend would be wrong, because I didn’t want to be sweating in my house and feeling uncomfortable. I was really pleased when the HVAC worker showed up early and he was ready for business. Another friend bet that the guy would tell us about some energy saving tips. He said most HVAC professionals do that, so we made bets if he would or not. I was banking that he wouldn’t, but sure enough, he did. I was actually shocked when he showed me all the work he did and then started telling me about improving my air quality. Then he brought up the energy saving tips like changing the air filters regularly for lower energy bills and using a humidifier for improved comfort with minimal HVAC system use.
