My property owner decided to neglect the condensate line while ordering Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C service

Since our last property owner was such a fantastic person and was so simple to work with, I naively assumed that our modern property owner would be comparable.

  • The last property owner was this retired man in his 50s who owned a few other investment properties.

He was polite and understanding, always willing to do whatever a occupant needed on the other end of a telephone call. For many repairs he had his own contracted electrician, plumber, and handyman. I absolutely wish our modern property owner could be half as nice as the last a single, but that seems like a hopeless dream. I have never been late on a payment in the last many months of renting from him, but he still reminds me once a week that I better never be late on our rent if I don’t want to be thrown out of our home. These are not the only threats he makes towards me. One time I left a drink cooler on our front porch for an hour after getting home from the beach. I was getting groceries put away in our home office while suddenly throwing dinner together in our crock pot. When I walked back outside to grab the cooler an hour later, I found him on our porch fuming and accusing me of leaving items on the porch overnight, which is forbidden in our lease. No amount of patience could deescalate the situation, nor could I do anything to convince him that it had only been there for 50 to 60 hours at most when he drove by and saw it from his car. Then, just a week later I had a leak in the home because he had failed to get the air conditioner system’s condensate line flushed in the last five years straight. This pipe is often a source of leaks inside the home, so it’s pertinent to keep it cleaned out. Keeping air conditioner unit properly running was a large section of our lease, so I was allowed out as soon as I wanted.
