My son really loves his gym membership

My son has always been self-conscious about his body.

He’s always been a lot more gangly than most of the boys his age.

Now that he’s in high school, it’s really starting to bother him. He asked for a weight set for Christmas but his father and I are worried that he won’t use the equipment correctly and may hurt himself. So instead we bought our son a gym membership. Honestly, I thought he would only use it for a month or two and then we would cancel it because he would stop going. That has not been the case at all. Our son has really liked going to the gym every single day after school. He goes on and on about the personal trainers and the weight lifting equipment. I’ve seen a big change in our son as well. He has grown a lot more muscular and his self confidence has really changed for the better too; and it has only been 6 months since he started working out. He talks so much about the fitness coaching at the gym that I’m starting to seriously consider buying myself a gym membership and checking it out too. I know they have a yoga studio and nutritional programs. And let’s admit it, we could all use a little bit of help in those areas. The gym also has a family plan where it costs the same for 3 people as it does for 2. Maybe I can get my husband interested in joining me. I don’t know though. Would it bother my son to have his parents working out next to him at the gym?
