The Thermostat Was Programmed

Just four hours after falling asleep though, I woke up overheated and my daughter’s room monitor told me that it was 75 degrees in her bedroom.

I took my daughter up north to visit her grandmother with me and we both had a great time. We loved spending quality time together and exploring a place that we rarely get to visit. Although the entire trip was great, there was one thing that stuck out to me as difficult. I was so worried about my daughter not sleeping through the night or throwing a tantrum, but those issues never arose. Instead, I had a never-ending battle with the thermostat across from my bedroom. Before I put my daughter to bed, I set the thermostat to 72 degrees. When I went to bed myself a few hours later, I left the thermostat where it was because I felt comfortable. Just four hours after falling asleep though, I woke up overheated and my daughter’s room monitor told me that it was 75 degrees in her bedroom. I turned on my overhead ceiling fan and tried to fall back asleep, thinking that I was overreacting. However, I tossed and turned for an hour before I went back to the thermostat and saw that it was set to 84 degrees! Thankfully, the outside temperature never rose higher than 75 degrees, or we both would have roasted! The thermostat was programmed to not run during the night because nobody ever slept in those spare rooms at my grandma’s house. The HVAC professional must have programmed it for her because she didn’t know how to change it, nor what the settings were. The whole weekend I was constantly changing the temperature on the thermostat because it constantly changed!
