Every trip we have had since we started backpacking has been awesome. The pictures, scenery and roads we took have been breathtaking. We love the outdoors, we love the heat and unfortunately convenient things like air conditioners and car radios break on us when we set out on adventures sometimes. We know how to fix certain heating and cooling stuff like HVAC systems and fans, but other things like hair heating brushes and car radio systems have been faulty and ironically break on the trips. We had amazing fortune and met amazing people on the warm days we set out on the roads. We stopped to catch some steamy warm bubbles in the springs and we also had some cold nights in the desert. If we learn one thing when we take to the open road, it’s that our modern technology brings a fragile comfort and sometimes we have to live off the earth and embrace it. We don’t always have fans, air conditioners or heaters when we’re uncomfortable. Sometimes mother nature forces us to travel and experience the raw feelings of the reality we are in. We know how to use most of our stuff and brought a first aid kit and a survival kit. It’s just frustrating that we bring things like a mini solar powered fan to cool us off in the car while we drive and it breaks the first day on us. How ironic is that? We have plenty of ways to stay cool, but the fluctuating temperatures of the desert are harsh. It can go from blistering sunny rays and heat to a cold chilly nightfall below freezing. Be careful and be ready on the open road, only depend on your modern technology so much if you can.
