Getting in shape for daughter’s wedding

When my daughter announced that she was getting married, I was thrilled for her.

We immediately started shopping for her wedding dress. My daughter then mentioned that I’d need a mother-of-the-bride dress. Looking at myself in the mirror, I wasn’t happy with what I saw. Over the last five years, I’d put on a considerable amount of weight. Because of long hours at work, I was no longer working out. The only physical activity I ever got was cleaning the house or weeding the gardens. I didn’t want to be overweight and unhappy with my appearance at my daughter’s wedding. I certainly didn’t want to buy a larger sized dress and pose for photographs. I decided I needed to get in better shape and knew I couldn’t do it on my own. I researched and found a certified personal trainer who was willing to accommodate my schedule. At our first consultation, I explained my hope of losing weight and improving my body shape before the wedding. We discussed my eating habits and lack of physical activity. I thought we’d start slow, but the trainer developed a meal plan and told me to stick to it. The first workout session was an hour long and he nearly killed me. By the end of it, I was drenched in sweat and could barely stand up. The trainer insisted that I make time to workout in-between our sessions. Since I didn’t want to be quite so pathetic at the next session, I made sure to follow all of his instructions. It took several weeks before I actually started to see some progress. After a couple of months, I began to feel much better about myself. By the time of the wedding, the personal trainer had me in the best shape of my life. I’m so happy with my accomplishments that I continue to workout with my trainer several times per week.
