When I moved into the apartment, there were no a/cs to be found.
There was nothing in the lease that said there was a/c.
I called the landlord & asked if I could put window a/c in the apartment. He told me I could, however I had to spend money the electricity for them, & there was to be no harm done to the windows. I agreed & went out to buy two window a/c units. I lived there for two years, but then I got a new job. I was moving twenty miles away & found an dwelling that was within a mile of my job, & half the cost of the dwelling in the city. Luckily, it was at the end of the lease, so I provided my one month notice & said I would be moving out. The dwelling was clean, & I had pictures of the dwelling when I moved in & when I moved out. Two months later, I still hadn’t received my deposit for the dwelling so I called the man. He told me I removed the a/c units & the dwelling was disgusting. I had to take him to court. Luckily, I had pictures of the dwelling before & after, that were date stamped. I showed them to the judge, & he asked about the a/c units. I provided him the original lease, which stated there were no a/c units in the apartment. I had bought them & took them with me. The judge sided with me, & I got my entire deposit back from the landlord.
