I didn’t realize that you save big money by sealing your windows and doors in the summer

I used to only think that you needed to seal up your home in the winter season to prevent the heating from escaping.

It turns out that if you really want to save, you should be doing this in the summer months as well.

I mean, I always knew to keep the doors and windows shut, but it never dawned on me that I would save a lot of money by sealing up the windows and doors during this time as well. I mean, you think this would be common sense, and perhaps it is. But I remember the HVAC technician coming over and asking me if I ever considered sealing up the windows like I do in the winter. I gave him a funny look and he said that he gets that all the time when he brings up this topic. He explained it to me in a way that completely made sense and he left me wondering why in the world I didn’t do this as I did in the winter. It’s not like it’s especially difficult to seal up the windows with plastic and seal the doors. He also said I should consider investing in energy efficient windows that prevent heating from the sunlight and the A/C from escaping. They definitely work perfectly in the winter too. He even said some people that go for these special windows don’t even bother sealing them up because they work so well at insulating the house. I thought that was something to save money for in the future because it sounds like a wonderful investment. In the meantime, I’m going to seal up my windows and doors in both the summer and winter months.
