For quite a few years, it had been mine as well as my hubby’s dream to retire down south.
This was something which was just sort of a foregone conclusion for the past decade.
Both of us wanted to get out of a Winter that needed a powerful furnace to keep us hot in the winter. The older we became, the less we enjoyed winter. Sure, having a white Christmas is wonderful as well as enjoying our little grandkids playing in the snow is charming. However, the heating bills from the oil furnace along with the length of the Winter were wearing on us. So we continued to push forward with the plan that we would transfer south in order to trade that oil furnace for a heat pump. I thought dealing with all the Heating as well as A/C cooling in the warm season was better than dealing with all the cold of the nippy season. But then, my hubby unexpectedly passed away about 2 years before we retired. This changed everything for me. I upgraded the Heating as well as A/C device on our household as well as sold it. I bought a small 2 bedroom home for me as well as the pet. This transition has been difficult but made much easier being surrounded by buddies as well as family. The thought of moving away from them now is different. Yet, I still had the desire to live outside during the Winter so I had a sunroom put on my current venue. And the ductless heat pump in the sunroom makes it so I can enjoy being sort of outside all Winter thanks to enjoyable Heating as well as A/C device technology. Who knows, perhaps I’ll actually feel differently in the future but right now, I’m not ready to trade the oil furnace for the heat pump on my own.
