I took my kid up north to visit his Grandma.
We both had a good time, but we enjoyed spending quality time together plus exploring the area where we rarely get to visit.
And although the entire trip was great, there was one thing that stuck out to myself and others as difficult… I was worried about my kid not sleeping through the night or throwing just a tantrum, however those issues never arose. Instead, I had a never-ending fight with the dumb thermsotat unit across from my living room; Before I put my kid to bed, I set the control unit to a cool 71 degrees. When I went to bed myself a few hours later, I left the temperature settings alone since I felt comfortable. After falling asleep though, I woke up hot plus my daughter’s room monitor told me that it was 71 degrees in her crib. So I just turned on my overhead ceiling fan plus tried to fall back asleep, thinking that I was overreacting! I tossed plus turned for an hour before I went back to the control unit and I saw that it was back at 84 degrees! Thankfully, the outside temperature never rose higher than 71 degrees, or the people I was with and I would have roasted overnight! The control unit was programmed to not run during the night. Nobody ever slept in those spare rooms at my Grandma’s house. She said that the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional must have programmed it. She didn’t know how to change it, nor what the settings were. The whole weekend I was always decreasing the temperature!
