I’m not ready to leave the North after my hubby died

For the longest time, it had been mine as well as my hubby’s dream to retire down south.

This was something which was just sort of a foregone conclusion for roughly the past 10 years or so.

Both of us had the wish to get out of a Wintertime that needed a strong oil furnace to keep us comfortable in the Wintertime. The older we became, the less both of us appreciated the frigid months. Sure, having a white Christmas is beautiful as well as watching our little grandkids play in the snow is amazing. However, the heating bills from the oil furnace along with the length of the Wintertime were becoming too much to deal with. So both of us continued to push forward with the idea that both of us would transfer south in order to trade that ancient oil furnace for a heat pump. I thought dealing with all the HVAC cooling in the summertime was more enjoyable than dealing with all the frosty Wintertime weather. But then, my hubby unexpectedly died about 2 years before both of us retired. This changed everything pretty much. I updated the HVAC machine at our residence as well as sold it. I purchased a small 2 bedroom residence for me as well as the cat. This transition has been severely strenuous however made much easier being surrounded by good friends as well as family members. The whole idea of moving away from them now is vastly different. Yet, I still had the desire to live outside during the Wintertime so I had a sunroom put on my up-to-date locale. And the ductless heat pump in the sunroom makes it so I can enjoy being sort of outside through the colder weather thanks to awesome HVAC technology. Who knows, perhaps I’ll totally feel differently in the future, however at this moment, I’m not ready to trade the oil furnace for the heat pump when I’m on my own.
