Jacob had done well in high school and got accepted to a prestigious college. His parents were so proud of his efforts. He ended up enjoying his summer working at the local yacht club and saving money for things he wanted to get for college. He’d been reading reviews from other college students in the school and got an idea of what he had to bring with him. Jacob’s parents weren’t too wealthy, but he knew they’d cover the tuition, living expenses, and books. Jacob planned on bringing a portable AC with him, as he had read on the reviews. The students had the same complaint about the central AC on campus. Since it wasn’t as effective, students would prefer to bring portable AC units to stay comfortable. Plus, Jacob wanted to be less dependent since he was living with a roommate. He did realize he made the right decision to bring a portable AC with him that first week of college. The dorm he lived in had a faulty air conditioning system which took time to resolve. Jacob’s roommate was so happy Jacob came with the portable AC unit since this kept them cozy all fall. In the evenings, the place got chilly, and having the heating unit at hand was excellent. Eventually, the school did get around to fixing the air conditioning in the dorm. This was important because winter was not so far away, and there were a lot of students who didn’t have portable AC units with them. Despite the air conditioning working in the dorm, Jacob always had his trusty portable AC with him in college.
