Keeping a cold water fish tank

Although most people find it inconvenient when their A/C machine decides to stop working, it is much more than that to me.

You see, for the past 3 years, I have been owning cold water fish.

Since they are a cold water species, they need cold water to survive and thrive. While some species are able to withstand heat better than others, the species I own is one of the more sensitive kinds. Because of that, I am always on top of how my cooling unit is working. If the air conditioner ever decided to stop working, since I live in a really hot climate, my home would start heating up immediately. This would put my fish at risk, as the heated surroundings would warm up their fish tank and the water inside it. My worries came true one day, when I came home from work and noticed how hot and humid my home was. I immediately panicked and rushed over to my fish. My fish were acting funny, but not dead, which was the most important thing. I put them in a bowl of cold water, and rushed to call a heating and cooling business. The HVAC corporation picked up on the first ring, and I asked for emergency HVAC repair. Thankfully, they did emergency heating and cooling repair, and even though I had to pay extra, it was either that or wait a week until their schedule clears up for me to have a regular appointment, which by then, my fish would be dead. The HVAC tech was here in 20 minutes, and had the A/C device back up and running in another 15. I thanked the guy and he left. After my home had cooled down a bit, I noticed my fish were back to acting normal.
