Finally my buddy Tim said that he was a monk for about 5 years where he lived apart from society isolated with other monks
Recently when I went to my 20 year high school reunion, I was surprised at the people I ran into. Here I had old friends who I entirely forgot about and they for some reason showed up to this thing, just like I did. I didn’t even bother to go to the 10 year reunion, and some of my old buddies admitted that they didn’t bother with that either. In a way, I wish I did because we were able to hang out again. One thing I started complaining about right away was the lousy air conditioning at the venue we were at. It was some kind of ancient hotel space with a large area for everybody. We had the music playing and everybody was mingling and talking. I couldn’t believe one of my friends became an HVAC professional. He said currently he owns his own HVAC company and I thought that was a pretty major achievement. I told everybody how I was a writer/editor these days and I was able to work from anyplace I wished. Everybody expressed their jealousy at that point and said how lucky I was to be able to be mobile. Even though I can work from just about anywhere, I prefer working at home where I have a ductless mini split. I have a seperate zone in my home office so I always have the perfect temperature control settings without being affected by the temperature control settings anywhere else.
