My dad hates air conditioners, and I have no idea how I am supposed to respond to that.
Honestly, I didn’t even know that there were still people that were cautious about central air conditioners.
When I was a kid, it made sense that my dad was unsure about central air conditioners. Although central air conditioners have been around for a pretty long time, they definitely weren’t popular for a long time. Most households could not afford central air conditioners, and this meant that only the super-wealthy or corporations were allowed to own central air conditioners. When the HVAC companies finally created central air conditioners that everyone could use, it made sense that some people would be a little nervous about purchasing a central air conditioner. However, over time, people should have realized that central air conditioners are perfectly normal and pose no distinct threat. However, my dad refused to purchase a central air conditioner because he thought that they were a complete waste of money. He had lived his entire life without a central air conditioner, and he thought that it was completely illogical to decide to purchase a central air conditioner now. Although I thought it was strange, it didn’t surprise me too much. However, as an adult, I would have figured that he would have purchased a central air conditioner by now. All my siblings and I have a central air conditioner, and even my mom has a central air conditioner. However, his caution about purchasing a central air conditioner has turned into a full-blown hatred, and I think that it is super strange.
