My husband & I prefer our house, it is just a short walk away from our parents! You can walk through our woods & emerge in their backyard, it will be perfect for our teenagers when they are older.
I prefer that we have lots of property & are super private due to the woods.
The only snag is that our house is a bit small for our teenagers now, we have two teenagers & are clogged packed in the home. We converted the laundry room into a living room & are out of space! My husband & I can’t share a room due to sleeping habits, HVAC needs & labor schedules, however so our four living room, two bathroom house is full to the brim. We really want to have another child. My husband also wants an office space since he works from home. We have looked into additions however they are so much money. What is a cheaper solution is a modular living room. You can get a shipping basket built however you want. You can make it a bathroom, living room, family room or whatever. You just need to hook it up to water. The room can have HVAC, electric & plumbing. My husband is talking about blowing out a spot in the house to create a doorway. Then the doorway will open up to our modular addition. In addition our husband could have a living room & an office… Our last child then can take his room. It would be the perfect set up for us. Someday when we have the money, we can ship our modular space back & really do the addition.
