Prediabetes scare has me needing some changes

I know I can do this and I can beat diabetes

When my blood test came back, my doctor informed me that I was pre-diabetic. This means that I’m only a few markers away from having full blown diabetes. She told me that there are several steps that I can take to keep myself from becoming diabetic. She even said that I might be able to get rid of the pre-diabetes if I work hard enough. Then she told me about the nutritional programs that the medical office offers. They also have nutritional counseling and physical training programs. My insurance even covers most of the costs for these wellness programs. I was very excited to learn this and I made an appointment with the nutritional counselor that very same day. Then I made an appointment with the physical fitness coach. I liked both of my sessions. I learned a lot about nutrition as well as exercise. The fitness coach recommended, in addition at to my weekly sessions with him, that I join a gym as well. He wants me to start working out at least 3 days a week. It’s only been a week since I’ve started my wellness programs but I’m already feeling more hopeful. I know I can do this and I can beat diabetes. It’s just going to take a little bit of motivation and self-discipline. Besides, the coaches will hold me accountable and I need this kind of push to keep myself on the path to health and fitness. I really don’t want diabetes, or the health problems diabetes causes, so that’s a good motivator to stick with my fitness program and nutritional program as well.
