Reaching a plateau and struggling to lose weight

He’s greatly increased the intensity of my workouts and introduced a lot of different exercises

I’ve always been quite physically active. I played softball and volleyball and ran track in school. As an adult, I’ve kept in shape through a dedicated workout regiment. I make a point to devote an hour to fitness before work every morning. Until recently, I never considered joining a gym or seeking out professional help. I know how to properly workout and the importance of mixing up cardio with weight-lifting, squats, crunches and all sorts of different exercises. I’m very good about warming up, stretching and taking the time to cool down. I started having some problems when I turned fifty years old. I suddenly gained a couple of pounds and couldn’t get rid of them. I tried working out harder and longer, and I adjusted my diet. Unfortunately, I’d reached some sort of plateau and couldn’t make any improvements. After struggling for about six months and being really unhappy with the look and weight of my body, I finally found a personal trainer. We sat down and discussed my concerns and goals. We went over my regular workout plan and my diet. The personal trainer found several areas where I could make some changes. He weighed and measured me and designed a totally new meal plan that includes a lot more fresh vegetables, fruits and lean proteins. The workouts have been fantastic. He pushes me way further than I would on my own. He’s greatly increased the intensity of my workouts and introduced a lot of different exercises. I’ve lost weight and I’m in the best shape of my life.
