My wifey & I spend our cold seasons down south. We’ve been enjoying retired life for the past several years, but spending the winters down south is wonderful for our bodies & mind. My wifey also enjoys the warmer temperatures during the cold season! Before we leave that household each winter, we have a checklist of services & chores that need to be handled… A tuneup on the oil furnace is regularly a wonderful idea, even if we aren’t going to spend the whole cold season in the house. There are seriously freezing temperatures, ice, & snow in the cold season months. When my wifey & I leave the household for several weeks at a time, we choose to set the temperature on the smart temperature control to 50°. The oil furnace only comes on if the household is seriously freezing & cold. The heat is absolutely necessary, because it keeps the pipes in the household from freezing! If the water pipes freeze, they can crack & break & that leads to flooding. This past year, we had the smart temperature control installed & it has helped to decrease some of the anxiety that we tend to feel each time the people I was with and I leave the household for an extended period. The smart temperature control permits us to check on the temperatures in the household even if we aren’t loft at the time. It truly is a wonderful thing when we are far away from our home. One time we came home from being down south & there was a leak in the dining room. The floor was absolutely flooded & we basically had to update the tile in the dining room & the cabinetry. After that setback, we chose to buy the smart temperature control.
