With several family members in one home, it was necessary to get Heating plus A/C zone control, for a few years our family plus I relied on one central Heating plus A/C unit.
- It was always a fight dealing with the temperature control.
I wanted AC in the study room while I made dinner. My partner demanded heating for when he was in his office. My guys could never agree on a temperature control setting in the playroom. Later on I decided enough is enough, the central Heating plus A/C system died and I fixed it with a ductless multi split system. I have more than 2 outdoor air compressors and several indoor air handlers, but every room of the beach house has an air handler and a temperature control. That means each room of the beach house can be set to an identifiable temperature without affecting the other one. I can have cooling while I am in the kitchen at the same time our partner has the gas furnace on in the office. The guys are willing to give a little bit currently. They compromise on kitchen plus playroom rapidly increasing temperatures since they each have a study room with the right amount of Heating plus A/C, and zone control is not only good for keeping the peace, however it is surprisingly energy efficient. Unused rooms now don’t get any Heating plus A/C. In the warm season our partner doesn’t even want AC. It seems prefer the Heating plus A/C unit almost never needs to job anymore, then since the workload is not as rough, there are less repairs plus tune ups required on the system. I have even noticed that without HVAC duct anymore, the air quality even ten times more fresh. Zone control might be the best thing that has happened to us.
