Being a good chef

I am a chef at a local restaurant.

  • I am not a so called gourmet chef, but just a regular one.

I did go to school for it so I am good at what I do. However, I have to say that if the place where I am working did not have great heating and air conditioning I am not sure I could be so great. When I do not have proper heating or air conditioning I find myself feeling very sluggish. I can not perform my job when it is too hot or too cold. I worked at one restaurant once that did not have proper heating and air conditioning. I ended up having to quit within a week because of this. I just could not function in a place that has weak heating and air conditioning. But thankfully this place has the greatest heating and air conditioning system. When it is hot out you would not even know it. Even with all the ovens and stoves going. They have perfect temperature control. I think that attributes to the HVAC zone control system they have running throughout the place. In the restaurant area they can have it at a slightly warmer temperature in the summer time for the customers, and then they have it cooler in the back kitchen for us chefs working around the stoves and ovens. I think it is a wonderful set up all together. I will continue to work here as long as the heating and air conditioning stays quality like it is.
