I was expecting the HVAC company to send a technician to my house last week.
I had written that he was to be there between noon and 3PM.
When he still hadn’t arrived by 4PM, I called the HVAC company and asked if they could tell me when the HVAC technician would arrive? The person who answered the phone told me she didn’t have an appointment set up for that day and asked if I had written the wrong date. I was so embarrassed when I realized the appointment was for this Thursday, and not the previous week. I was sure my husband was going to get a big laugh out of my faux pas, so I didn’t tell him about it. I simply told him I would need to take off this Thursday for a doctor’s appointment. I should have known I couldn’t pull one over on him. He has always known when I wasn’t telling the truth. He says that I don’t look him in the eye and I fidget. I worked until 11AM the following Thursday, then headed home so I would be there when the HVAC technician arrived. When I got home, my husband was there along with the tech. They were talking about the ductwork and how the HVAC tech thought that all of our problem with the airflow was because the ductwork needed to be cleaned. My husband said he was there first because he wanted to talk to the tech when he arrived. If he had told me that, I wouldn’t have taken off work early and he could have dealt with this alone.
