Choosing a smart control unit

The control unit can even notify the Heating and A/C company and allow a diagnostic check of the system

When I decided to upgrade our very old, manual control unit, I didn’t realize how several brands, models and features were available for purchase. I wasn’t aware of the significant improvements in technology. I knew that there are now smart control units that allow remote adjustment through an app on the cellphone. My goal was to be able to raise or lower temperature whether I’m at home, at work or anywhere. I always forgot to make adjustments before leaving in the day. The furnace or a/c would then run all day long, heating or cooling an empty apartment and driving up our energy costs; On the rare occasion that I remembered to adjust the control unit, our family would arrive apartment at the end of the day to either a very frigid or warm residing space. I hoped to lessen the workload of the heating and cooling system, reduce our expenses and like superior comfort. However, once I started researching the latest generation in control units, I got happy about options such as voice commands, occupancy sensors, geofencing and studying capacity. There are control units that keep track of every adjustment for the first week after installation. The unit then creates a customized schedule. There are models that light up as someone approaches and give information about energy USge, humidity levels and weather forecast. Some will send out reminders to upgrade air filters and schedule service and alerts for temperature variations and power outages. The control unit can even notify the Heating and A/C company and allow a diagnostic check of the system. It took me many weeks to finally decide which control unit I wanted.
