primarily, I stay at the hotels right along the interstate
So business travel has changed drastically for me in the last couple of years and I couldn’t be happier about it. That’s because I’m only traveling my commercial carrier about 10 or 15 percent of the time. That number was once 100 percent of the time. Between the lousy air conditioning on the plane and the lousy air conditioning in many of the hotels, it was not a great experience. But those days are over and all it took for that to happen was a global health crisis. Like many other companies, where I work closed the office and send us home to work remotely from the central air conditioning of home. Well, it took me a while to adjust to not being inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office, but I came around. Yet, a great big part of my business is being out meeting with the customer. And since our company had grounded us from flying during the pandemic, we had to figure something out. Fortunately, there was a bit of a consensus decision to reconfigure travel by region. In other words, I would be taking over for representatives who were in my residential region. That way, I could crank up the air conditioning in my car and get down the road. And that’s what all of us have done and it really does make sense. Not only do I not have to deal with air travel, I’m sure enjoying my accommodations for more. primarily, I stay at the hotels right along the interstate. I do this because they’re always clean, reasonably priced and have great commercial HVAC. All I really need when it comes to lodging is clean comfort and reliable, consistent air conditioning.
