I guess any type of work can beat up your body so maybe I picked a line of work that isn’t as bad as it could have been
I feel like I’ve been hanging out on the beaches for 100 years. When I look back on my life, I have been going to the beach or living on the water on a lake since I was born. So that means the past 56 years have been spent by some form of water, and I bet if I am alive at 86 years old I will still be found near the coast. I will probably be sitting on a bench at that point and watching all the young people having fun. I hope my HVAC contractor friend is still around then too and sitting beside me on that bench. I just don’t want to have regrets when I get older, regrets for not living the life you wish you could have lived. I work as an HVAC tech and don’t regret that at all, but I may regret doing so much ductwork cleaning because my knees have taken a beating from all of the squatting I did over the years. I guess any type of work can beat up your body so maybe I picked a line of work that isn’t as bad as it could have been. I will keep doing my HVAC specialist work for another six years and then I am going to go into semi-retirement and work about 10 hours a week just to keep a foot in the door with the working world. I will always do some kind of cooling system work for as long as I can because it is good for the mind and body.
