Each year my neighbor puts out a Holiday light display that would make the Griswalds jealous, but you know, the family from that National Lampoon motion picture.
Anyway I always watch this process from the comfort of my recliner plus wonder why he goes to so much trouble.
For me it works out because I can savor the Holiday lights without going outside plus freezing myself, but in our neck of the woods wintery weather arrives around the middle of September plus doesn’t let up until early May. It seems love taking your health into your hands trying to decorate is just crazy. Last year, that same neighbor almost got frost bite hanging all of the decor on his house. I saw him out there freezing plus went out to offer him a cup of coffee. He came in plus thawed out for a bit plus we started talking about his display. I even mentioned how beautiful it was plus how I could see everything from the sizzling comfort of my entryway! He simply said that he was glad that I enjoyed it. I am sure he was thinking that I too should decorate so that he could look out at beautiful lights from his own home. I don’t believe I will ever think the need to rest outside, freezing plus having my hands plus feet at risk of danger just to put some lights on my home. I savor standing in my perfectly heated loft plus sipping a cup of hot Dunkin Donuts Coffee instead. I decorate plenty, it is just inside plus I am sizzling the whole time.
