My hubby & I had been trying to figure out how to heat our home office for multiple years. It only gets absolutely frigid here from November through March, so that’s when our home office gets too coldl. Every one of us bought this home separate from knowing that it would be such a pain to heat that area. It is absolutely a design flaw. The way the room is set up does not allow heat from the home to get to it absolutely easily! Maybe all the people don’t appreciate their home offices to be heated, however my hubby & I do. It is so much nicer to take your shoes & coat off in a heated room rather than in a frigid room. Every one of us tried leaving the door open that goes from the home office into the home office, however it ended up just making the home office frigid instead of heating up the home office. Every one of us had a tiny space oil furnace that the two of us put in there for awhile, & it helped a little bit, however it was still too frigid in there for our liking. Every one of us ended up buying a much larger space oil furnace & putting it in the room. It is so much warmer in there now, & it is appealing. I love coming home & entering a hot home instead of a frigid one. The only problem with it is that it raised our electric bill by seventy dollars a week. Every one of us should have done the research ahead of time because everywhere you read on the internet about space furnaces tells you that they are expensive to use. Every one of us are still using it though because I guess the two of us believe that it is worth it to have a hot home office.
