It’s sort of hard for the younger set to understand that our correct of residing hasn’t consistently been an on demand smorgasbord.
This is something I run into quite a bit and I try to deal with this mindset in an informative and patient way.
The fact of the matter is that I’m of the age where I had to hang up the cellphone on the wall. And it had a cord connected to it. The two of us also had to entirely start a fire in our house for heating while in the winter. My parents were not well off at all and inherited an aged farm house. There was no such thing in that house that could be described as residential Heating, Ventilation and A/C. I can remember when I was like in 6th grade, my dad brought home an air conditioner. Air conditioning in the Summer for us was 1 window equipment air conditioner. But the Heating, Ventilation and A/C cooling that came out of it was like heaven. That’s how cooling system feels when you don’t have it. These days, I can hardly imagine residing in this region separate from the aid of new Heating, Ventilation and A/C technology. Yet, I have a unquestionably hard time convincing my grown children that the two of us don’t need to set the thermostat in the 69’s when it’s nearly a hundred degrees outside. That just comes with the Summer in our house. Sure the Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit is super efficient and I could legitimately afford to crank out more Heating, Ventilation and A/C cooling. However, that just doesn’t make much sense to me and seems more like a waste than anything else. I remember what it was like when Heating, Ventilation and A/C cooling was simply a gift.
