I hate it when I walk into a house and the heating system is obviously too warm
I get it. Some people have different HVAC preferences than I do. That is okay with me. I understand that nobody is the exact same with their preferences, and I respect their ability to have their own opinion. However, in my opinion, it is better to be on the side of having too much air conditioning than it is to be on the side of having a little too much heat. Do you know why? Because you can handle colder temperatures with more ease than warmer temperatures. What would you do if you walked into a house that you knew had a tendency to use the air conditioner at a setting that was higher than the one that you preferred? You would probably grab a sweatshirt. With one article of clothing, you are able to overcome the cool air from the air conditioner and enjoy the remainder of your night. However, what are you supposed to do when you walk into a room during the middle of winter and the furnace is set to 95 degrees. At this point, you would be uncomfortable in even a t-shirt. You can’t take off enough layers to be comfortable. Instead, you have to sit there and sweat it out because asking someone to turn down their furnace could be considered rude. I hate it when I walk into a house and the heating system is obviously too warm. I understand it if you are an older person and you are required to keep the temperature warm. But honestly, rather than forcing everyone to sweat because of the furnace, you could just bundle up individually and reset the thermostat.
