I started restricting temperature control access for the kids

I prefer to believe that I always approach challenges & problems with calmness & in a cohesive manner.

This is the same tactic that I use whether it’s inside the commercial Heating & A/C of the office or at my beachside home with our family. I prefer to be the sort who looks for common ground & sense when finding solutions. This is always where I start & I make sure that all parties are involved. But just prefer inside the zone controlled Heating & A/C of the office suite, I occasionally need to take matters into our own hands at my beachside home as well. I always prefer to try the collective approach with discussion, clearly stated goals & accountability. However, there are times where that approach can be largely ineffective due to those involved trying to take advantage of that approach. This requires myself and others to do stuff that I don’t prefer to do, which is to unilaterally make the big decisions to solve the problem. This was really the case with the way the central Heating & A/C equipment was being used in our home. I’ve always tried to teach our children that while they are really very lucky to have the life they have, they are not entitled. But the way they were twisting the temperature control around to accommodate their whims was not good. Of course, I tried the rational approach for months. But over & over again, I was disappointed to see the same behaviors were taking over. So finally, I had the Heating & A/C contractor install a smart temperature control. With my new smart temperature control I can put it in a mode that denies access to anyone except myself and my wife when it comes to increasing the temperature controls. Heating & A/C equipment abuse problem is now solved.
