Going through life struggling with flu symptoms is no fun for anyone, and I’m terrified myself. I, along with millions of others, just do our best to deal with it every year. Allergies and the subsequent symptoms honestly tend to just be an ongoing thing in my life. But, I sincerely despise the effect that flu symptoms have on my life year after year. Plus, I live in a region of the country where it seems like there is something out there blooming all the time. I have addressed what I can. Every one of us went and upgraded the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C air filter to a more efficient and cleanlier HEPA style filter which does a much better job than the particularly cheap air filters of trapping pollen. However, it doesn’t solve the entire problem… still I am so thankful for the relief it does provide. Our home is sealed up very well in an effort to reduce the load on the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C. We try to keep the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C treated air inside the house. Having our little home sealed up also helps my flu symptoms. But, the downside of that is the ongoing fact that for at least 7 or 8 weeks, our home just gets limited fresh air from outside because of the air temperature. This results in a sort of dank, stale smell in our home all season long. I called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C people and asked, short of a whole home air cleaner, what we could do to get some fresh air. They came out and installed an HRV vent in the house. This is a Heat Recovery Vent that works amazingly well in conjunction with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C to pull in more outdoor fresh air as the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C exhausts unwanted heat from the house.
