For the last two years, I have been worried that the HVAC technician was going to tell me I needed a new air conditioning unit. They did not prepare me for the news of a new AC unit at that time, but this time I’m ready. I called the HVAC technician to have my air conditioning unit inspected before summer. I had the appointment marked on my calendar and in my appointment book. I was prepared for anything the HVAC technician may tell me, including needing to purchase new AC equipment. When the HVAC technician arrived, he headed outside and was gone for longer than I had thought he would be. I was nervous that it was taking so long; wondering if he had a problem or if he had been injured. I didn’t want the technician to think I was spying on him, so I tried peeking out the window instead of the door. I saw him moving, so I was sure he was okay, but I couldn’t figure out why he was still outside. When he finally came inside, I was prepared for the worst news. I saw the copious amount of notes he had made and he said he wanted to make some suggestions. The second he mentioned the AC unit was getting quite old, I spoke up. I said it’s funny he should say that, because I was already prepared to purchase a new AC unit. He looked at me oddly and told me he was going to say I needed a new fan motor and wanted to know if he could return in three days and replace it.
