I am the senior cooling representative and have a team of 7 cooling specialists who know more about air conditioning. I heard that we were going to have an All-hands meeting where the team leads updated the company about the progress of their teams, what they could do better and what they had done well in the past quarter. Since my boss was not present, I would be representing him in the meeting. I started to prepare a week before the scheduled meeting. I needed to have my facts right, including how the new HVAC equipment, the mini-split air conditioner, was doing on the market. I also needed to track the performance of the new cooling techs that joined the team about three months ago. As I was doing the report, I realized that we had taken up more jobs in a particular neighborhood to help with indoor comfort. I later learned the reason behind this was a factory near the community that increased the temperatures around the area. Thus, the residents were grappling with malfunctioned air conditioners. Some had requested new installations for their quality air conditioners. The number of air conditioning repair jobs had significantly increased as many people were using their cooling equipment in a hot summer. The day finally came, and the presentation went pretty well. The CEO asked how we were doing as a cooling company in the cooling industry. From the numbers presented, we were doing pretty well. It was a great learning point for the team and me.
