My property manager destroyed the house because she voided a lease

My property owner just effectively ruined her house because she wouldn’t honor the agreement that the two of us signed, but all of us both made it explicitly clear that she was responsible for paying the Heating, Ventilation and A/C workers if our oil furnace ever stopped laboring… Sadly, our oil furnace stopped laboring, and our property owner didn’t honor that agreement.

She has been ignoring our calls, and I waited for many weeks with a broken oil furnace for her to call the Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker to have him repair our oil furnace.

Since she wasn’t holding to the agreement, I decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. My mother has a large house, and she agreed to let us stay in the house until our oil furnace started laboring. My property owner expected us to repair the oil furnace ourselves since the two of us couldn’t live in a cold house, even though she didn’t recognize that the two of us had a backup plan… Without the oil furnace laboring, the pipes in the house suddenly froze, and the two of us left them there for the winter, however i continued paying rent since I didn’t want the property owner to grow suspicious. At the end of the lease, I moved out, and I told the property owner that she still needed to repair the oil furnace! You should have seen the horror on her face as she realized that she would still have to pay the Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker and a plumber. Since the two of us had the right to do this, she couldn’t sue me or take away our security deposit for not fixing the oil furnace. If you are renting, make sure to read the contract. If they promise to repair the oil furnace, make them keep their word.
