My husband and I love our house.
It is just a short walk away from my parents. You can walk through our woods and emerge in their backyard, it will be perfect for my kids when they are older. I love that we have lots of property and are super private due to the woods. The only snag is that our house is a bit small for our kids now. We have two kids and are jammed packed in the home. We converted the laundry room into a bedroom and are out of space. My husband and I can’t share a room due to sleeping habits, HVAC needs and work schedules. So our four bedroom, two bathroom house is full to the brim. We really want to have another child. My husband also wants an office space since he works from home. We have looked into additions but they are so much money. What is a cheaper solution is a modular bedroom. You can get a shipping container built however you want. You can make it a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen or whatever. You just need to hook it up to water. The room can have HVAC, electric and plumbing. My husband is talking about blowing out a spot in the house to create a doorway. Then the doorway will open up to our modular addition. In addition my husband could have a bedroom and an office. Our last child then can take his room. It would be the perfect set up for us. Someday when we have the money, we can ship our modular space back and actually do the addition.
