Two years ago, I was able to learn that there is such a thing as green vacationing… I didn’t even know what a green vacation could possibly be, but when my good friends recommended that we go on a green vacation together, I figured why not? I am single and so I rarely have anyone to go on vacation with, so I commonly don’t go anywhere. Well, it turns out that my neighbor was experimenting with taking a vacation that has no a/c or heating equipment included. So off we chose to go to a tropical island that looked pretty lovely in the brochures and in real life. Staying in a hotel room with no A/C equipment was absolutely not my personal idea of an enjoyable time. If I had known there was going to be no a/c equipment in this Tropical Paradise, I would have stayed at my own property! But she didn’t tell me… Anyway, I prefer the concept entirely, even though I am a spoiled American and I simply must have enjoyable Heating plus Air Conditioning. In fact, I have been known to go on vacation and not really go anywhere. I have easily gotten a hotel room and cranked the A/C up all the way as far as I could and just chilled soaking up the free Cooling. So as you can see, having no way to cool off other than to walk all the way to the ocean and take a dip, was sincerely not what I would have chosen to do. For those who do not prefer their air-conditioning as much as I do, that’s fine. I am so cheerful that you are able and willing to help the environment… On a personal note, I would adore being able to donate money to the companies that plant trees, while still maintaining a nice a/c event to go to.
