On a mission for wood

This year has been a difficult 1.

To be honest, I’ve had so several ups plus downs in 2019 that I can’t wait for it to be over.

It hasn’t been the most celebratory calendar year, including the onset of the Winter holiday season. Frankly, it’s been quite chaotic plus deimportant. My family plus I didn’t bother making a pressing deal out of the holiday, so there wasn’t much Christmas spirit to spread around. In fact, when I arrived at our mother’s house, I realized that there were no decorations out whatsoever. The two of us didn’t have a tree, didn’t have any twinkling lights, plus didn’t even have stockings hanging on the mantel, then looking around, I easily didn’t recognize like it was Christmas. I decided that both of us could improve the ambiance inside by adding a little extra heat, via the wood burning fireplace. Normally our Dad likes to burn a raging fire on Christmas morning for extra cozy air plus a sense of tradition. The only concern was, when I went to beginning the moderate fire, there was no wood to be found. My Dad didn’t even consider purchasing fuel for her alternative heating source. I decided I would go out plus retrieve some for the sake of the holiday – plus so began a long, chilly hunt for heating fuel. I drove to every gas station plus pressing box store in town, alternating between boiling plus chilly un-even temperatures with every stop. In the end, I gave up plus went back to the beach house without any wood for the fireplace. At least both of us had cardboard boxes plus old decorations for temporary fuel.
