Peak air conditioning season not too far off

I actually had to put on a hoodie this afternoon.

That’s about as cold as I like for it to get during my winter.

That’s just why I traded a gas furnace for the heat pump. Never again. Honestly, I’m not so sure how I got through it for as long as I did. But even though I grew up in the north in a home with radiant heating, I was always cold in the winter. Now the boiler in the basement in that house was a beast and it produced all the radiant heating you’d ever need. But even as a kid, there was something about the winter that I could just not shake no matter how cozy it was inside. But these days, that’s no longer a concern as my heat pump barely kicks on for the winter. And as nice as all of that is, it doesn’t last forever. It won’t be but a couple more months before the temperatures begin to rise enough that I hear the air conditioning units kicking on. And from there, it only gets hotter and more humid. By the first week of June, we are entering into the Heat season. And the heat season lasts from June through September. I have even seen a few days in the mid nineties in October. I’ve been down here quite a long time now so kind of have a routine when it comes to dealing with cooling my house. Like everyone else, I need the heat pump and the air conditioning to manage the heat of summer. However, I wait as long as possible before I really start using air conditioning. This makes the summer heat not as overwhelming and sure saves money on air conditioning bills.
