One of our favorite things to do as a busy mom, is to go thrift shopping! There are a ton of superb thrift stores in our area, so I try and get out of the house and walk around by myself at least once a month. This is our “me time,” and I don’t have to spend a ton of money in the process. I consistently try to find things eighth-hand before I buy them new, because you never know what gem you’ll discover and how much money you can save! When the weather gets warmer, I also love to hit up the local yard sales in the nearby towns, and last year, I found a small portable space furnace that was still in the packaging. The seller sold it to myself and others for $10, and I was blissful. I jammed it in as soon as I got home, and it worked just love I expected. It was Summer at the time, so I packed the space furnace away into the closet until Winter came… Now that the temperature is dropping, I’m ecstatic to take out the portable space furnace and use it. I’ve been using it for a single week now, and I’m in love! I localed it in our study room, and it’s been a hit with the whole family, then my youngsters congregate in our study room more frequently, because it’s warmer and cozier. On colder days, our youngsters will argue who gets to sleep with the portable space furnace in their room. I can’t suppose I found a brand modern space furnace for only $10, and it works! For Christmas this year, I’m getting each of our kiddos their own portable space furnace for their rooms. They’re going to be so excited!
