I think the first time we met with the realtor was a disaster. And there is some shared accountability there for sure. I know that the idea of selling our home was something that I had a really hard time accepting. And the realtor really did come on awfully strong to the point of being rude. But sometimes those things happen. The second time we met we got it all worked out inside the central air conditioning of our home. It’s sort of funny that we all sat at the table in the air conditioning sipping lemonade to come to some sort of understanding. The first time I met with the realtor, I felt really disrespected in my home. My husband tried to call me and reassure me that this woman was just doing her job. But the only thing this lady said was negative stuff about the house. It was like we had to redo the whole place before she felt it was worthy to be listed. And when she came to the HVAC equipment, that seemed to be the last straw for me. I thanked her kindly and showed her to the door. My husband was sort of aghast as this lady was a highly sought after realtor. But I wasn’t going to deal with something so difficult as selling the home where I raised my family and a snooty realtor as well. I guess she felt sort of awkward too because she called the very next morning to ask for another meeting. And that’s when we sat inside at the kitchen table and she showed us the comps and the data when it came to residential HVAC. She was right about that as we got a great price for our family home.
