Today when my daughter arrived back from home she told me the most wonderful news.
After working for me in an internship type of role for the past couple of years, my daughter wants to officially join my company working as an HVAC tech! I’m not going to lie to you, when my kid came to me and said that she had enjoyed her time learning from me and even had aspirations of taking over the business one day I was stunned. The natural talent that she had was as clear as day and was the type of thing that literally anyone could see, but at times she seemed to downright hate the job of an HVAC tech. Seeing me have to work with customers who like to give a hard time and the long hours that the job naturally brings had her up and down at times, but I am so glad that she was able to stick it out regardless. Her mother still wants her to be a lawyer, but I just don’t think that’s going to happen anymore. Sorry honey! I am more than happy to pass the HVAC business down to her when the time does come, but I think I still have a good 10-15 years in me before I am going to call it quits and there is much more that I need to teach my daughter about HVAC leadership. Cheers to another fifteen years of working alongside my family!
