What was I thinking when I joined this gym?

I was watching television and heard they would soon open a new gym in our area.

It was one of those name brand gyms, but they offered really low rates to join.

Since I had gained a bit of weight, more like fifty pounds, since having my son, I thought I would try it. The first day I walked in there, everyone looked like models. The women were stick thin and beautiful. The men looked like they had just jumped off the cover of GQ. There was no way I was going to feel comfortable parading around in my sweats when everyone else was in skin tight workout tights.I went to the office and asked them to give my money back. I couldn’t figure how what I was thinking when I joined the gym. The manager told me they thought the thinner people would be an incentive for people to join. They have looked like me when they first walked in, but this ‌happened with hard work. Those people were not incentive, but laughing at me for not looking like them. I saw how the one girl laughed and pointed, and I would not subject myself to that. Instead of sticking with the name brand gym, I headed over to our local gym. I didn’t lose all the weight I wanted to lose, but I toned up and got rid of the flab. It took me almost a year to get to where I am, but I am glad I came to the local gym. They had the same workout machines, and everyone was nice. There were more people shaped like me than the models in the other gym.
