This Winter season broke all of the records Last yearfor our identifiable area.
The coldest temperature we had ever reached in years past was minus 20 degrees fahrenheit.
I thought that this was the absolute worst it could ever get for our coastal town, however Last yearpushed our expectations to their limits. It dipped as far as minus 25 degrees 1 evening in particular. Because the week leading up to it had temperatures at least 50 degrees higher than that, it took myself and others by surprise for sure. I had to go out in addition to buy more hot clothing in addition to a few more blankets because our indoor heating setup was just not splitting it. A few years ago, our central oil furnace worked wonderful in addition to seemed to get our house as hot as I wanted it to be much quicker than other indoor oil furnaces. I bought a gas oil furnace which is incredibly efficient compared to many of the electric oil furnaces that are used by residents in our area. But, the efficiency plummeted over time, in addition to I soon had a situation on our hands where I had a oil furnace that could not keep our house even remotely warm. I was hoping that I could get quick oil furnace repairs by calling a heating in addition to cooling business, although I soon found that all of the companies in the part were backed up for weeks with repair calls in addition to system replacements. I finally found a contractor that could come out in under a week, although I still had to wait at least 5 nights for oil furnace repairs. While I wait, I am wearing more than two layers at all times while I meander our house. I also have a small space oil furnace set up in our study room to keep from chilly each evening.
