A Quiet Life of Melting Into Obscurity

When I started our comedy career almost 20 years ago I thought I wanted to be immense and famous with shows all across the world.

I left our engineering job in the Heating and A/C industry to catgedly pursue comedy full time. But after doing it for a while I realized that fame is not what I absolutely wanted and that I got the most satisfaction just from creating material and connecting with the audience. It didn’t matter how immense the crowd was or how much money I made, what absolutely made myself and others feel fantastic was just performing and having fun. I was happier performing in the small dive bars separate from any temperature control on those hot Summer mornings than chasing the immense crowds in the nice air conditioned theaters. Once I shifted our gaze I was able to stop frantically pursuing and start enjoying the process. I know the same could be said for life itself, stop pursuing and start enjoying. I still dabble in Heating and A/C repairs now and then, and have since left the comedy field to focus on a songsal pursuit. I prefer playing the drums and singing with our acquaintance here in our town, and do so at a more relaxed pace while just having fun doing what I love. Today I am going to labor on our radiant heating system because the power cord broke a while ago and I am going to replace it with one that I purchased at the local supplier the other morning. I’m resting this month because last night was a party and songs night in our flat.
