While the brutal heat and humidity are still several months away, it never hurts to start thinking about this year’s plan.
And when I say plan, I mean the strategy that I’m going into summer with regard to the air conditioning.
In our region, we get to enjoy the most lovely winter weather one could ask for. But we certainly make up for that during the four months of summer. It’s kind of interesting how the best weather lasts four months and the worst weather lasts four months. But really, I can endure a hot and sweaty four months of heat season to have the rest of the year. I’m still really enjoying the fact that the heat pump is not running much at all. The heating demand in our region is close to none. However, the heat pump may kick on here and there just to knock the chill out of the house in the morning. So there’s no big deal when it comes to heating bills. But there’s a real big deal when it comes to cooling bills. If you let the thermostat setting just run wild, it will cost you when it comes to air conditioning utility bills. I’m really not into forking over a car payment every month in order to simply have the inside of my house be super air conditioned. So each year, I start making my plans in order to stick to an air conditioning saving strategy. It’s not brain surgery and all the information I need is at the HVAC company website. But it’s definitely worth checking out in order to reduce the high cost of air conditioning at home.
