This year for his birthday, we surprised my dad with a new a/c unit for his house. My dad is one of those guys who will make do with whatever he has. He never likes to spend any extra money and we all joke about the fact that he definitely has thousands of dollars hidden in his mattress. He is just one of those old school types of guys! Whenever we were growing up when something broke down, he would say something about how we would just have to go along to get along. My siblings and I never understood that saying, however my dad regularly had a lot of strange things that he would say that did not make any sense to us; Anyway, this year, my dad has been having a lot of problems with his central a/c method and he mentioned that it was definitely time for him to upgrade it, however he did not want to spend the money. Whenever he said that, my siblings and I all looked at each other with knowing looks. As soon as he mentioned it, we knew that that was what we were going to get him for her birthday this year! This year, he is going to be 75 years old, and we figured that he should genuinely get whatever he wants for her birthday. Three siblings and I are all going to go in on the new central a/c method and split it three ways! I think that my dad is going to be genuinely thrilled when he realizes that we are getting him a brand new high efficiency a/c method for his birthday.
